Hello all, as you may have noticed there has been a severe lack of updates from me as I am in a FUNK.
As Tim asked over at mechclub I too am suffering from this lack of motivation. Seasonal Affective Disorder maybe? Whatever the case I cant get going.
Hopefully though over the Christmas break I'll have something new to show you. Like a Thor and Loki? Maybe finish off this Marauder? The Axeman? We'll see.
Anyway, have a good Holiday break all, and go easy.

Whats up.
Well at the moment not much. But I do have one of Simon's awesome Highlanders on my desk. This guy has some serious casting skills and Im looking forward to getting his new Hunchback.
Really, if you can I highly recommend picking his stuff up if he has any left.
http://reversedisabled.blogspot.ca/
Now onto business.
As you may know the Catapault is going to be going into the rubber next.
Im going to have Bmbam do it again and it order to get the process started once again I need start-up capital so to that effect I will be selling two of my oldest mechs.
My Armourcast Madcat and Vulture.
Now on Ebay I can get over $200 each for these guys but Id rather offer them to you guys first.
So if you are interested drop me a line at scott.murphy@telus.net.
UPDATE Both spoken for.

Kodiaks galore
So I sold my Kodiak scratchbuild to the amazing artist David White, illustrator and designer of the MW4 mechs (including the Kodi) but as it sat there about to be boxed up I realized I really really liked this build I did and wanted to keep it.
But since I couldnt (I took his money after all) I quickly scrounged enough rubber to pour all over it and now with my LIMITED casting skills Im making a few copies.
They've needed cleanup of course and Ive been doing what I can to fix the bubbles and voids. Ive also been doing partial assembly.
Ill maybe get 6 or 7 before these molds fall apart. If you dont mind cleaning up resin with all the air bubbles and such give me a shout and Ill sell you one of six
UPDATE: 7 are spoken for. No more guys , sorry. The molds just wont take it and are done.
Next to be kitted, the Catapault.

A Locust build.
Just a quick post for a shot out to my bud Scott Christian and his build.
Its grainy sure, but you can see the way a Locust should look. Speed incarnate.
Looking good!

Legs
Just a quick look at where the legs stand (no pun intended) right now.
I shortened them slightly to change the center of gravity and because I hated how tall it was.
You can see the plating added and where I intend to add more as per Alex's art.

Marauder in progress
So I've had this old kit since like 03 or so . A 1/72 Robotech/Macross Commanders battlepod, which as you all know was used in Battletech as the Marauder.
The original art by Loose altered it slightly
Not by much. The main difference is the nose area and of course all the extra panel lines that, to me, made the mech seem more human in a way. Less cartoony and Alien.
I picked up this kit because I was led to understand that when built it would stand in scale with my Armourcast kits. Well I built it and was immediately disappointed.
It was just to Robotechy and not very Battletechy. This is not my kit but one I found on the net. It builds nice but it just isnt for me.
Sorry, I have no pics for size comparison,. but believe me, to my eye it was WAY too big. Standing like 2 inches taller over my Madcat. Not right when both are supposed to be 75 tonners.
So it went back into the box and away until I could figure out what to do with it. I paid over $100 for it after all.
Until I saw this painting by Flyingdebris.
And that did it. The old Imai kit is being transformed with this pic as the main inspiration. My final build wont be a perfect match but Im using it for a guide and this is where Im at now.
Im on the way.

Locust is here
Well the first 15 kits are in my hand and I would like to show you a few shots. Heres all of the bits laid out.
A few problems that need to be dealt with though. 1st theres the ankle joint, some warping occurred down the line. Some sanding and putty should deal with it.
( edit: the leg masters is being touched up and recast, should have new parts in a couple of weeks.)
A bubble in the body molds leads to extra resin we dont want but a 1/4 drill bit will take care of that.
A 1/8 drill bit will take care of the overpour in the locator holes here.
Same here.
Glue both sides of the upper legs together, the pins going into the legs. You may want to sand and putty to hide the big seam here.
The missile pods and shoulder stalk. Be careful with the alignment. Id wait to the end of assembly to make sure you got everything pointing where you want.
Antenna and sensor pod
The feet obviously. Gonna need some putty and sanding though.
And before you know it a completed Locust standing on your desk.
The ball turret underneath can be glued on of course but Im planning on adding a couple of magnets so it can rotate forever.
Wheres a swarm when you need one?

A quick update on the Locust.
Id just like to announce officially that the Locust is in the rubber and my costs have been tallied, so as of this moment it will be a limited run of 25-30 kits(depending on how many pulls we get out of the rubber) and Im selling the Locust for $49 plus $10 for shipping in the North Am region. Overseas will be $20 for shipping.
As usual, a decal sheet with various house and merc symbols will be included.
Note: as of 7/17, 16 kits have been paid for, meaning only 9 more are up for grabs.

Thanatos
Finished and painted! My scratchbuilt 1/60 scale Grey Death Thanatos.
Again started with the paper plans by Blaar to get the size and proportions right but then I deviated as I do to arrive at something more to my liking. Plus with so many different artists interpretations of the mech its hard to select just one version to do. I always end up picking the bits and pieces that I like to get the final piece.

Locust master pretty much ready
As you all know the results of the vote were mostly in favour of the Locust for the next kit I run.
So I wanted to make sure I had it all ready the way I wanted it. I ended up beefing it up slightly.
My original was basically built pretty much the same way Marc Yungblut built his over a decade ago, And this stood only about 4.5 inches tall. In my mind thats too small for a 1/60 kit. As a 20 ton mech I think it should stand about waist high to the Atlas. Not its groin.
So Ive thickened it, lengthened the legs, enlarged the feet and made the srm pods bigger.
As you can see from the pics its now about 6.5 inches tall and a little easier to cast and assemble.
If you'd like one please email me at scott.murphy@telus.net.
Im trying to get an idea of how large a run i need to do.
And I dont have a final price yet but Im hoping the $50 buck range will be do-able.

Mechs for sale.
Hello all. It seems that the results for the vote on which mech I cast next has been decided.
Leading the pack by a clear margin was the Locust.
Followed closely by the Catapult. The Urbanmech was also a favorite, coming in third and a distant fourth was the Hellhound.
Thanx to all who sent me their thoughts.
Now this brings me to my next topic, in order to get the ball rolling on the casting I need financing. While a certain chunk of my paycheck(against my wife's wishes) goes to this I figure I might as well sell a few of my one-off mechs to help out.
Im selling my Sunder for $150 (Update, Sunder sold 06/05)
the Masakari for $110 (update 06/08 sold)
and the Hunchback for $95
On top of these I still have a few Hollander kits left and they are $70
Drop me an email at scott.murphy@telus.net if you're interested.
